The therapists behind Dóchas
Two experienced clinicians dedicated to understanding the human mind, fostering resilience, and helping people live with greater freedom.
About Ciara
As a UKCP-accredited and BPC-registered Psychotherapist, I am qualified to provide Psychotherapy and Counselling to clients with a variety of requirements. I am also a UKCP accredited Supervisor and have supervised trainees and established psychotherapists working in a variety of clinical settings.
My person-centred relational style places a strong emphasis on providing my clients with a nonjudgmental, empathic relationship. Having continued my training in psychodynamic therapy, I am adept at considering the unconscious aspects of your presentation, such that we can progress beyond a logical understanding of your needs to an understanding that gets to the root of things.
“This approach has resulted in my assisting numerous clients with deeply rooted and persistent issues to understand themselves and discover the keys to their own inner peace.”
Despite the fact that we all desire instantaneous solutions to the areas of our lives that are causing us inner turmoil, the path to lasting freedom necessitates a lengthy period of exploration. Many factors will determine how long you will need to be in therapy, but ultimately, it will be up to you to determine when you feel ready to leave.
Although I have worked with clients on a shorter-term basis and would do so again, signing up for longer-term work enables a much deeper understanding of oneself and consequently produces longer lasting results. I offer both in-person and virtual consultations on a weekly and biweekly basis.

Extensive experience, unwavering commitment
I am a highly experienced clinician dedicated to accompanying individuals on their unique journeys toward inner clarity and lasting transformation. As a registered Psychoanalyst with the Society of Analytical Psychology and a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with the Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis, my practice is rooted in depth psychology. I am also a registered Supervisor with the British Association of Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Supervisors, providing a secure, reflective container for practitioners at all stages of their clinical development.
With over 30 years of clinical experience I have worked extensively across complex mental health services:
- NHS Specialist treatment services
- Addiction and Recovery treatment services
- For the last 10 years as a Clinical Director I have led and shaped these services
- Psychiatric and Personality Disorder services in Forensic Settings
“I believe that one of the most powerful things we can offer is time and space to be truly listened to. Being deeply heard is not just comforting — it is a profoundly transformative, educational, and healing experience.”
